Where are we going, what is our targeted direction? As Warren Bennis states, “Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality.” Strategic planning starts with clarity of focus. This module will explore the key elements of strategy, compare and contrast different models of strategic planning, and its application to nursing. This module also highlights the internal and external factors within healthcare that influence and ultimately require considering a shift from strategic planning to strategic management.
